You are worth it.

Sometimes we feel as if we are not worth it. Like someone else deserves more than we do.....and like we have nothing good to bring to this world. Why do we think like that?
Our Father says we are worth it. We deserve the best. We are valuable, and as perfect as we can be, in His eyes.
Never doubt yourself.

Never settle for less.

Never doubt God's love for you.

Never forget the price paid for YOU.

Wrap me in Your Arms

The Testimony of the Unheard.

Tonight I have been reminded of a great fact. You really can not jump to conclusions about a person until you truly know them, and what they have been through.
My heart has been touched by an amazing girl I work with. Her life has been a roller coaster, except without the thrilling "ups". Because I am leaving her anonymous, I feel as if I can share her story, and it might just touch your hearts as it has mine.
This girl (who is now 19 years old) lived with her biological mother as a child and was raped repetitively by strangers and her mother's friends alike. At the age of 12, she was taken away from her mother and placed in foster care. Her foster father tried to rape her as well. Being at an age of understanding that what she had been put through was not right, or what she deserved, she reported him. At the age of 16, she moved out on her own. She had a steady job, and her own apartment. Through all the chaos, she pushed herself to complete highschool, and when graduation came, she knew that she had done it. She was strong. She could handle life on her own....But, even with this success, she felt incomplete (who would blame her?). From guy to guy, she tried to fill the whole in her life, but none of them were the right fit. Her most recent relationship ended today, and she was devastated. But you know what? Today, on November 23rd, 2011, this girl gave her life to Jesus Christ. No longer did she feel the need for a man, no longer did she feel the need for lust, and false love. She found her Father, her Savior. She found the One who can save her from everything she has gone through. She found the One who will hold her and never let her go. She said to me, "You know, I am glad that all of that happened to me. Why? Because God let me go through it all, because He knew I could handle it, because it all led up to this moment, this day."

My heart has been touched by this individual young lady's testimony, and I hope it touched your's as well, even if my description was not ideal. Thank you and keep her in your prayers!

Modest. Sacred. Beautiful

So…..Tell me, what does modesty mean to you?

mod·es·ty
/ˈmɒdəsti/ Show Spelled[mod-uh-stee] Show IPA
noun, plural -ties.
1.
the quality of being modest; freedom from vanity, boastfulness, etc.
2.
regard for decency of behavior, speech, dress, etc.
3.
simplicity; moderation.

By the mud-clear definition the world gives us, we would be LUCKY to have fingertip-length shorts, at most. It is sad, really. Why is it that young women (and even children!) find it so satifying to reveal themselves to the entirety of their surroundings?
Now, you see, we as Christians are called to live above the earthly standards, are’nt we? So why is it that we don’t follow the direction set before us in our book of instructions for Christ-like living? Our heavenly Father has made it very clear that we are HIS sacred jewel, whom he will one day present to a worthy man to cherish, and protect. Until then we are to keep ourselves (body, mind, spirit) clean, polished, and protected. Going out and exposing ourselves to every person on the planet is not exactly following His expectations.
  • 1 Timothy 2:9-10 —“likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness-with good works.”
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 —“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
  • 1 Samuel 16:7 —“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
When a woman veils her body in modest clothing, she is not hiding herself from men. On the contrary, she is revealing her dignity to them.
”..I have loved thee with an everlasting love..” -Jeremiah 31:3
I AM BACK! Okay, maybe more like…..I AM ACTUALLY GOING TO START POSTING NOW (hopefully). Yeah, that’s better. Wow, life has been crazy recently…But God has been absolutely amazing through everything. I have a little story to tell you…
The other day I was taking a walk in the woods like I do almost everyday, and as I was sitting in a tree, I looked upon another tree in the distance that closely resembled Jesus upon the cross. My heart shook. Without a second thought, I climbed down the tree, walked to the base of the “cross”, kneeled, and began praying in the spirit, trembling in a sea of tears the entire time. It was a moment I cannot find a single word to describe. Powerful…Beautiful…Peaceful…Amazing…Majestic…all pressed into a single feeling of joyful complete-ness. And, what made it even more incredible is that it was 11/11/11! I won’t ever forget that moment! God is so good.
